An exquisite accent pillow for your nautical or coastal home or beach cottage decor, from our fabulous Williamsburg collection of decorative throw pillows, this Red Curlew petit point needlepoint pillow is 18" x 18".
THIS DETAILED DEPICTION is taken from The Natural History of Carolina, Florida, and the Bahama Islands (1731-1747), by famed naturalist Mark Catesby. He was one of several 18th-century explorers who ventured to remote areas of the world to document regional flora and fauna. Catesby spent five years collecting specimens, taking notes, and making drawings. Identified as a curlew, this charming bird may actually be the Ibis. The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation collections contain a copy of the 1771 edition of the two-volume work. ? 2006 The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation
